Releases

NOTICE: This information has been officially declassified by the VAS Network.

These releases are the result of many years of research & development efforts from VA’s R&D team. Some are still not available, as VA deems them too dangerous, or because the game is still being kept alive by Disney Interactive Inc.. A release of such dangerous work would not be good for the game. Enjoy!

Game Client Enhancements

VA made several enhancements to the game client (the BattlefrontII.exe file). Most of these enhancements were produced from VA’s R&D team. The note.txt file contents from the full release can be seen below:

Game Client and Server Patches

Full release of VA’s client and server patches in Lame Patcher format.

You can use Notepad++ to view the patches. Use Lame Patcher to apply them.

GameSpy CD-Key Generator

Created by VA’s Bryant in 2015, this is an Autoit3 script that effectively brute forces a valid CD-key using the GameSpy backend. Since GameSpy has shut down though, the VAS Network has decided to release the full version to the public. Please note that the code hasn’t been reviewed to a stable release, so issues could occur.

The full release can be obtained through this Google Drive link:

GameSpy CD-Key Generator FULL RELEASE

The way it works is:

  1. Initiated by running keygen2.au3
  2. Third-party keygen is ran (keygen.exe)
  3. Generates hundreds of keys per second, whilst the automation script significantly increases the accuracy
  4. GsKeyCheck is used to test the validity of every key generated (GameSpy)
  5. Valid keys are saved, invalid are discarded

Being able to first morph an already generated key into a new one is extremely powerful, paired with automatic key validation.

Internal testing done by VA showed around 1-2 valid key(s) every 12 hours. Internal testing also showed that keygen.exe doesn’t draw from a very good entropy pool, so after a while, you could get the same valid key. VA never did fix this—development halted when GameSpy shut down.

A table for Windows-1252, created a long time ago by Draigun. This was used for an easy reference to the art of name hacking.

This is pretty much the closest VA has gotten to source code level information on the game.

Not released/could be released at a future date

SWBF2 Chat Hack

At this time, “SWBF2 Chat Hack” will not be released to the public.

Reason: This program is deemed too dangerous, and has the potential to outright destroy the surviving community. Well, that, and the ability to outright crash any server with the click of a button.

SWBF2 Chat Eavesdropper

At this time, “SWBF2 Chat Eavesdropper” will not be released to the public.

Reason: Chat is still used in Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Therefore, until chat doesn’t work, this will likely never be released.

{VA}Jake’s SWBF2 Server/Game Client Hacker

At this time, “{VA}Jake’s SWBF2 Server/Game Client Hacker” will not be released to the public.

Reason: This program has the potential to change the game’s landscape and gameplay itself. Such a program has too many unknown consequences.
